If you haven’t been to “Romanian Design Week” yet, this week-end you still have the chance to participate to the events that celebrate Romanian design. Romanian Preview Design Week is the first event dedicated entirely to Romanian design that addresses a wide group of professionals, amateurs and enthusiasts. The areas include: advertising, architecture, digital design, fashion design, graphic design, interior design, photography, product design. The week will include a wide range of events “celebrating” design: exhibitions, installations, parties, creative conferences – basically, Bucharest becomes a “stage” for Romanian design. This year’s events are meant to be a preview of what the event will be in the future. Take a look on the map and choose an event. In a Relationship with a Famous Indonesian Movie Star

In a Relationship with a Famous Indonesian Movie Star

Posted by on May 16, 2013 in Personal Blog, Very Personal | 2 comments

For the purpose of protecting the real identity of the people involved in this story, the names used in this article are fictional. Until last week I was in a relationship with a famous Indonesian soap opera and movie star. Or at least this is how it looked like at one point… This is the story of how how I got deceived and what to do so it won’t happen again. It was just a usual Friday, on February the 1st, I think it was around noon, trying to finish some work and get ready for the week-end. When suddenly, I hear the pop-sound of a new message received on facebook. It said: “hiiiiii…salutari” and it was sent by someone called Lolita Zair. I said hello back and asked her if we have ever met. Then I checked her facebook profile and realized she was a lovely Indonesian girl. She told me we have never met, but went on to ask me questions like how old I was, where I was from and if I was married. I begun to feel like the old days, in the early beginnings of the internet when the only chat available was mIRC and when you could chat with total strangers – all you had to do is approach them with the term “a/s/l” (that comes from age/sex/location). I found out she was 23 year old and apparently she only recently joined facebook because she only had about 10 friends. But I simply couldn’t get my eyes off her profile pictures. Almost all of them seemed to have been taken by professional photographers, and she looked amazing in all of them. But hey, who can blame me when she looked like this: I wanted to make sure it’s not some cousin or sister in her pictures, so I asked, and she confirmed it was herself. I asked her a couple of times how she found me, but she always avoided the answer and changed the subject. But I didn’t care. That day was my lucky day! The next month or so we spent chatting on facebook, trying to get to know each other...

Top 10 Most Popular Youtube Videos of April 2013

Top 10 Most Popular Youtube Videos of April 2013

Most of you are probably just coming back from the seaside or from the mountains where you celebrated “The International Labor Day”. I myself went to the Black Sea with some friends. The water was cold as ice, but that didn’t stop us from swimming and the sun was hotter than we estimated, so now we’re all red from sunburns. Perhaps you’re still recovering from the wild party last night, so I thought I’d write something light, something anyone can “digest” after all that food from yesterday’s picnic. Another month has passed, so in case you’re wondering what was going on on the internet while you were gone, here’s a list of the ten most viewed videos on YouTube. #10. Mozart vs Skrillex. Epic Rap Battles of History Season 2. (20,332,878 views) I’m not sure how many of you heard of “Epic Rap Battles”, but for a while now they’re becoming more and more popular with their “This versus That” videos. Their formula is quite simple: they ask the viewers to suggest two famous personalities which they then make “battle” on the stage using nothing but rap lyrics. So far the battles included Barack Obama vs Mitt Romney, Rasputin vs Stalin, Nikola Tesla vs Thomas Edison and many others. Their latest video features Mozart vs Skrillex and ranks 10 in our video chart. #9. Surveillance Video Related to Boston Bombings (21,582,983 views) During the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013, two pressure cooker bombs exploded at 2:49 p.m. EDT (18:49 UTC), killing 3 people and injuring 264. The bombs exploded about 13 seconds and 190 m apart, near the finish line on Boylston Street. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) took over the investigation, and released photographs and a video of two suspects on April 18. The suspects were identified later that day as brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev. #8. CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Fertilizer Plant Explosion Near Waco, Texas (22,847,440 views) On April 17, 2013, an explosion occurred at the West Fertilizer Company storage and distribution facility in West, Texas, 29 km north of Waco while emergency services personnel were responding to a fire at the facility. At least 15 people were killed,...

10 Highly Creative Business Card Types

Posted by on Apr 25, 2013 in Advertising, Graphic Design, Professional Blog | 0 comments

First of all, in case you missed it, I would like to announce that my brand new, uniquely-designed business cards have just been printed. You may check them out here. Most of you already have your own business cards, probably standard 9×5 business cards with your contact details and company logo. This article is meant to broaden your point of view and destroy the paradigm that a business card is just a piece of paper that you hand to people. Check them out! I’m saving the best for last, so please be patient. #10. FUNNY BUSINESS CARDS How cool would it be to receive the business card above, saying you are awesome? This can go both ways though… You might be a douche 🙂 The business card above belongs to a doctor performing circumcision 🙂 #9. SIMPLE YET EFFECTIVE BUSINESS CARDS The business card above belongs to a divorce lawyer. In case you need an explanation 🙂 #8. TRANSPARENT BUSINESS CARDS #7. POP-UP BUSINESS CARDS #6. DETECTIVE BUSINESS CARD The business card above is probably one of the most unusual ones I have ever seen. You had to use a detective’s fingerprint kit in order to reveal the contact details. #5. MULTI-PURPOSE BUSINESS CARDS Why not create a multi-purpose business card that people can use every day? #4. HIGH-TECH BUSINESS CARDS The business card above contains a circuit demonstrating the amplification of the electric current. The business card above is actually a memory stick containing a Curriculum Vitae. Above: another example of a memory-stick business card. #3. INTERACTIVE BUSINESS CARDS The business card above belongs to a breast-enhancing plastic surgeon. Above: how about a DJ mix table revealing the contact details as you spin the disk? The business card above is quite interesting. It belongs to a rock-and-roll themed hair saloon and it plays a rock-n-roll song as you slide your finger through the comb. #2. DO-IT-YOURSELF KIT BUSINESS CARDS Above: how about a business card that transforms into a catapult? Above: for all the nature lovers out there – a business card that contains seeds that you can grow by yourself! #1. EATABLE BUSINESS CARDS Yes, that’s right!...
