Most of you are probably just coming back from the seaside or from the mountains where you celebrated “The International Labor Day”. I myself went to the Black Sea with some friends. The water was cold as ice, but that didn’t stop us from swimming and the sun was hotter than we estimated, so now we’re all red from sunburns. Perhaps you’re still recovering from the wild party last night, so I thought I’d write something light, something anyone can “digest” after all that food from yesterday’s picnic.

Another month has passed, so in case you’re wondering what was going on on the internet while you were gone, here’s a list of the ten most viewed videos on YouTube.

#10. Mozart vs Skrillex. Epic Rap Battles of History Season 2. (20,332,878 views)

I’m not sure how many of you heard of “Epic Rap Battles”, but for a while now they’re becoming more and more popular with their “This versus That” videos. Their formula is quite simple: they ask the viewers to suggest two famous personalities which they then make “battle” on the stage using nothing but rap lyrics. So far the battles included Barack Obama vs Mitt Romney, Rasputin vs Stalin, Nikola Tesla vs Thomas Edison and many others. Their latest video features Mozart vs Skrillex and ranks 10 in our video chart.

#9. Surveillance Video Related to Boston Bombings (21,582,983 views)

During the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013, two pressure cooker bombs exploded at 2:49 p.m. EDT (18:49 UTC), killing 3 people and injuring 264. The bombs exploded about 13 seconds and 190 m apart, near the finish line on Boylston Street. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) took over the investigation, and released photographs and a video of two suspects on April 18. The suspects were identified later that day as brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

On April 17, 2013, an explosion occurred at the West Fertilizer Company storage and distribution facility in West, Texas, 29 km north of Waco while emergency services personnel were responding to a fire at the facility. The live footage of the Boston Marathon explosions.

#6. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – Exclusive Teaser Trailer (24,518,191 views)

Jennifer Lawrence received this year an Academy Award for Actress in a Leading Role, for her role in the movie “The Silver Linings Playbook”. She also starred in “The Hunger Games” in 2012, and this year we are being promised a sequel.

#5. Demi Lovato – Heart Attack (Official Video) (30,615,978 views)

To be honest, it’s the first time I heard of Demi Lovato and I was a bit surprised to see she got over 30 million views in the last month. Personally, I don’t see what makes this song so special. To me it sounds like many others. Still, she’s number 5 on our list.

#4. Dove Real Beauty Sketches (37,505,278 views)

A truly original and unique campaign from Dove meant to show people a different perspective on what beauty is and the difference between how we perceive ourselves and how people around us perceive us. Magnifique! 🙂

#3. baby&me / the new evian film (43,028,727 views)

Evian continues its series of baby commercials. It seems they never get old. Literally! 🙂

#2. How Animals Eat Their Food (54,730,667 views)

Probably the funniest video I’ve seen this month. It’s simple and absolutely hilarious 🙂

#1. PSY – GENTLEMAN M/V (268,362,569 views)

For crying out loud! Okay, so Psy managed to create the first video to receive over 1 billion views – I’m talking about “Gangnam Style” which at this moment actually has 1,573,382,099 views. But why on Earth is “Gentleman” so popular? Maybe it’s just me, as I’m not a K-Pop fan at all, but what’s the message behind this song, what is it about? People, you HAVE to stop watching it. It’s absolutely nonsense.
